The Best Back To School Watch: From High School To Harvard
It's Labor Day and we all know what that means--summer's coming to a close and school is days away. Students rush to stores to pick up those last few needed school supplies while I head over to stores to pick out the best back to school watch.
So what would describe a watch suitable for school, whether you're entering tenth grade or finishing off your last year at HBS? Most importantly, it has to have style. Also, it can't be too pricey. Then again, you can't go for something quartz and non-Swiss (or German) made. After much research, I have found the Tissot Visodate Milanais to be the "best back to school watch."

The Tissot Visodate Milanais is lightweight, durable and one of the newest additions to Tissot's Heritage collection. The Visodate embodies the sleek and retro designs of the 1950's, but is contemporarily sized.
Its 40mm steel case houses an ETA 2836-2, a base ETA 2824 with a Tissot Day/Date modification. A sapphire crystal case back exhibits the movement with the gold-plated rotor, prominently bearing the Tissot logo.
What I find to be the coolest feature of this watch is the vintage-inspired "milanese" bracelet. Milanese bracelets commonly were seen on the chunky dive watches of the 70's and 80's. These bracelets were even used by Rolex on their rarer Daydate and Datejust models, such as those with Stella dials.
Tissot offers the Visodate in various other dial/case/bracelet combinations. This gives the buyer more than enough options to choose from, though I would advise sticking with the steel case and milanese bracelet.
