HANDS-ON [WITH LIVE PICS]: Introducing the JLC Grand Reverso Ultra Thin 1931 Chocolate
Today, I spent some time looking back at some of my favorite watches from this year’s shows. As I was sorting through my millions of wristies (no not selfies, wristies), I found a few awesome pictures of an also awesome Reverso. But this was not just any Reverso: this was the Ultra Thin 1931 Chocolate Reverso, the watch that was under the spotlight at 2014’s SIHH. This irrefutably stunning wristwatch combines JLC’s technical sophistication as well as the brand’s appreciation of the icon’s (still referring to the watch) heritage. At first glance, I actually thought that this was a piece brought in from the brand’s museum, when I saw it a week and a half ago at Timecrafters. Little did I know what I was looking at until I actually slipped the watch onto my wrist.
For those who follow JLC’s creations or are avid JLC collectors, you probably know that since 2011, Jaeger-LeCoultre has been producing a line of vintage-inspired Reversos. These limited edition watches all have featured classic dials, non-complicated movements, and original-styled cases. The first was the “Tribute To 1931,” the second was the “Rouge,” the third was the “Bleu,” and the most recent, the “Chocolate.”
